On Earth, the Defiant comes to the
rescue; on Bajor, the resistance suffers a betrayal.
The inside front cover of this issue
features birth date information for Kira, Miles, and Keiko.
The information matches what we know from ST: DS9.
The ancient Bajoran stone tablet that Kira believes can help
the resistance against the Dominion is the Reckoning Tablet,
which appeared in the ST: DS9 episode, "The Reckoning". Just
as Kira describes here, it held two spirits, an evil
Pah-wraith and a good Prophet.
In the current future timeline, Kira reveals that the
Dominion has allied with the Pah-wraiths to conquer much of
the Alpha Quadrant. In the original timeline, the Dominion
had much more difficulty making inroads into the Alpha
Quadrant, though it's attempts did bring the major factions
of the quadrant into a debilitating war against it.
On page 4, one of the Changelings refers to Odo as a
betrayer of the Founders. The Founders are a group of
Changelings who founded the Dominion with the goal of
enforcing control over all "solid" life forms after they
encountered fear and persecution from solids. This backstory
of the Dominion was established in episodes of ST: DS9.
The smaller craft which arrives from the Defiant to rescue
Sisko, Kirk, and the others is a type I don't recognize
offhand from past Star Trek adventures. It looks
similar to a runabout, but with a different engine design.
On page 14, an Andorian is seen serving on the bridge of the
On page 15, Miles realizes that something is interfering
with the dilithium mix in the Defiant's engines.
The Federation's warp engines have typically been depicted
as using dilithium crystals to control the matter/antimatter
reactions in a ship's warp core.
On page 21, panel 1, Kira's earring is mistakenly colored
the same as her skin, making it look like her earlobe is
At the end of this issue, Gul Dukat smashes the
Reckoning Tablet, releasing the
pah-wraith within, which is seen to possess him in
"The Q Gambit" Part 5. In the DS9 episode "The
Reckoning", the tablet was broken by Sisko but the
pah-wraith possessed Dukat there also.
